BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is a crossover tag-team fighting game created by Arc System Works, which initially the roster was conformed by Arc System Works' BlazBlue, Atlus' Persona 4 Arena (Ultimax), French-Bread's Under Night In-Birth and Viz Media's RWBY. But later as of 1.5-2.0, Team Arcana's (formerly known as Examu) Arcana Heart, Marvelous' Senran Kagura and SUBTLE STYLE's Akatsuki EN-Eins would join the fray.
The character art for this game is drawn by Higuchi Konomi, who previously worked as a character designer for the XBlaze series.[1]

Characters[]
The starting roster confirms to have 20 default rosters (21 in PC version) and 20 Season 1 DLC characters (19 on PC version), totaling 40 characters.[2][3] As a result for the half of game’s planned roster, this game caused backlash from fighting game fans who have been promised a large roster at launch, while also citing that the game uses mostly reused assets from earlier Arc System Works fighting games. Robert Ramsey of Push Square called the title ugly compared to Arc System Works' other project, Dragon Ball FighterZ.[4]
Season 2 DLC characters has been planned, according to Arc System Works president Minoru Kidooka, including this game's producer Mori, starting from their appearances in Arcade Edition on April 25, 2019.[5]

Trivia[]
- Like Under Night In-Birth characters, this marks the first time Akatsuki EN-Eins characters, alongside Arcana Heart characters, have received English dubs.
- This is also technically the first time Senran Kagura characters have received English dubs in a video game (while the first English dub of the series was in its anime adaptation). However, should another batch of DLC characters from the series be announced, some Senran Kagura fighters (particularly those whose names have already been datamined) will likely have different English dub actors from those in the anime adaptation.
- Unused announcer voice clips for Sai, Fritz, Kanae, Dawei, Adler, Murakumo Zero (to avoid being mistaken for a character from Senran Kagura), Mycale's Perfecti form, EN-Eins and Kati were found in the version 1.5 ROM through datamining. This was a hint of further Akatsuki EN-Eins DLC characters, however, with the end of Season 2, those characters would actually be playable along with the rest who were datamined as well, has never been able to be added to the game as future DLC at time when the artist Higuchi Konomi and the co-creator of BlazBlue Toshimichi Mori left Arc System Works, leaving its storyline at the cliffhanger.
- Excluding Blitztank, due to not being the primary character of its home series, Akatsuki is missing in Season 2/Special Edition cover art.
- It was released prior to EN-Eins Perfektewelt Anastasis was announced.
- This game was originally meant to commence the home port of Akatsuki Blitzkampf Ausf. Achse (under the name Akatsuki Blitzkampf Type-A), at time when it was revealed in SUBTLE's blog. However, home port Ausf. Achse had been on hold, due to SUBTLE is busy with helping French-Bread on Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late [cl-r] and Melty Blood: Type Lumina in his freelance job when the COVID-19 pandemic first started, then announcing EN-Eins Perfektewelt Anastasis in the following year.
- Based on this game's storyline and placeholder, as well how original EN-Eins Perfektewelt was revealed to be a beta prior its storyline to being fixed and finalized in Anastasis update, the involvement of Akatsuki EN-Eins is alternatively takes place as a midquel between both Akatsuki titles and EN-Eins Perfektewelt.
