He is serious most of the time and will not hold back whenever someone stands in his way, regardless of age or gender. But despite this, he respects his foes enough to wish that they may cross paths on friendly terms should they meet again. Akatsuki likes training and as such prepares himself for whatever dangers may come his way. Plot[]
Past[]
Akatsuki was a mysterious man who worked for Imperial Japan as a technical engineer and was once allies with Akatsuki Zero, Dr. Fritz, Ernst von Adler, and Dr. Mycale. During World War II they formed an organization called Gesellschaft. After the war ended in 1945, they discovered an energy source from the Agarthan civilization, which led to the creation of a powerful engine known as the Blitz Motor. He volunteered for the super soldier program under "Operation: Blitzsoldier," which would combine the Blitz Motor and his suit Taktischeblitzanzug, soon becoming a high class technical officer. Akatsuki's successful transformation into a Blitzsoldier would earn him his code name, "Prototyp 1." Gesellschaft remained active secretly, and Akatsuki was tasked for other important engineering tasks for the organization.
His last mission was to transport the Blitz Motor to allied nations at 195X AD. In case the Blitz Motor fell into enemy hands, Akatsuki was tasked with destroying the mass produced motors with no traces left behind of their existence. However, his ship was sabotaged from the beginning, supposedly killing Akatsuki in the Arctic Ocean. In reality, Akatsuki survived by using a Hibernation Control Unit to freeze himself and save his life from explosions for the next fifty years.
The one who sabotaged his ship was none other than Akatsuki Zero (who's name was changed to Murakumo) out of fear that Akatsuki's power and ancestry will surpass those of gods.
Akatsuki Prototyp Nr. 1/Blitzkampf (Ausf. Achse)/Enchanted Assassin Princess[]
Fifty years later somewhere in arctic area of East Siberian Sea in 266X/200X AD, Akatsuki awoke from his hibernation, having seemingly not aged a day. After his awakening, he returned to his homeland to discover the scenery had become all too unfamiliar. Realizing the eight known Blitz Motors had indeed fallen into enemies’ hands (the now compromised Gesellschaft) and still exist in the new world he now inhabited, he begins to carry out his last mission to destroy them.
His first venture is at Shanghai where he was attacked by Marilyn of Black Hand, who was tasked by an unknown assistant to steal his Blitz Motor from him. Akatsuki manage to defeat Marilyn, both deflect her weapon and even in combat. He held back his power without killing her, though it is likely leaves her having a clothing damage, then destroys her weapon and her golden bracelets instead. After the battle, Akatsuki eats meat mooncakes for the meal then went to a different harbor and return to Japan before Marilyn wakes up and other members & dockers of Black Hand caught up with the scene.
While returning to Japan, Akatsuki is confronted by a young covert G.S.O.D. operative named Kanae, who is ordered to confiscate his Blitz Motor and rescind his mission. Out of suspicious about the orders gave to her from GSOD, Akatsuki takes her down and apologizes to her for important reasons. He later meets a now older Fritz and reconcile with him after a brief fight.
Thanks to his tips regarding Gesellschaft's global conspiracies caused by the deceptions of Murakumo and Adler. Akatsuki went to Hong Kong where he gains assistant from MI6 Agent, Sai and the Holy Club's Anonym Agent, Merel Lambuth, under certain conditions to earn their trusts and shared a same goal for the destruction of not only Gesellschaft, but also its ancient originator which Mycale led the Perfecti Cult. The trio later went to assault Gesellschaft's base at Tibet while end up having unexpected supporters from Kanae, Marilyn and other Black Hand member, Wei, who had been following them on their respective accords. While he, Kanae, Marilyn and Wei are the ones who confronted Murakumo, it is Akatsuki who defeated Murakumo. As Gesellschaft about to be destroyed, Akatsuki and other fighters who helped him in the assault escapes separately, while Akatsuki disappears without a trace, presumably living at, his usual spot Aokigahara. Unbeknownst to Akatsuki, he unknowingly freed a young boy named EN-Eins, who was in stasis and escaped immediately, before the base's collapse.
Arcade Story[]
Ending Description: Having had learned the experiences from his fighting against Adler and his Elektrosoldats, Akatsuki explains the side-effects of over-relying Blitz Motor to a dying Murakumo, such as the white hair is the sign of the lifespan’s side-effects. Akatsuki rejects Murakumo's hypocrisy about humans being either machines or gods. Before he left without any traces, it is possible that he's the one who indirectly presumably freed EN-Eins. As Gesellschaft's base being destroyed after Akatsuki's departure, the world's government research teams were dispatched to investigate but they couldn't find any information about what happened.
EN-Eins Perfektewelt (Anastasis)[]
Several years later in 20XX, where Perfecti Cult, now goes by its true name "New Orders of Knights Templar" has Gesellschaft's assets and declares war on humanity, Akatsuki resurface once again, realizing the Templars have an alternate location source of producing Blitz techs.

- He is one of the two characters to retain their original costume colors in all appearances, the other one being Wei.
- Akatsuki himself is heavily inspired from the biggest three superheroes of Marvel Comics' Avengers: Captain America (frozen on ice, and being a Weapon I super soldier), Iron Man (Blitz Motor tech usage), and Thor Odinson (God of Thunder moniker, and ironically, his Cross Tag Battle super move (also his EN1PW(A)'s 5CC move and EX move) Thunderbolt).

- In BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, he has the color palette of Faust's classic look from the Guilty Gear series (from Guilty Gear X to Guilty Gear Xrd) as a reference to Akatsuki's English voice actor, who voices Faust since Xrd, as well as Third Illyrian King Daryl in Strive.
- His new moves: New j./ (an air combo finisher chop; with original axe kick becomes j.
